As a Product Stewardship Specialist within the Responsible Care department you will be part of the Product Stewardship team that supports the company to place safe products on the market according to legal requirements and company values.
About the position
You will participate in projects relevant for Product Safety and Stewardship and support the company within your field of expertise. The job also include representation of Perstorp in different external fora such as trade organizational working groups and consortia. Together with the team you will be involved in the work to continuously improve the Product Stewardship standard for Perstorp. Since we are a quite small team you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of task and take ownership of your area of specialization.
Examples of responsibilities:
Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of Product Stewardship processes.
Support the company in the product development or when entering new markets and/or countries by evaluating Product Safety aspects.
Manage registrations and notifications needed for products to be manufactured/ imported or placed on the market. Especially according to REACH since many of the Perstorp sites are located within EU.
Represent Perstorp in national and international cooperation organizations and trade associations.
Classify chemicals and create Safety Data Sheets and when needed the content of Hazard Labels.
Develop training material and educate relevant personnel in the organization when needed within the Product Stewardship field.
Qualifications
We are looking for a team member that can complete our team. Preferably you are an ecotoxicologist with experience from either chemical industry or relevant agency and is experienced in environmental risk assessment and environmental fate. However, Perstorp is a company that are expanding into new markets so if you are not an ecotoxicologist but have chemical regulatory background or toxicological background we would be happy to have a closer look at your application and CV.
Education comparable to Master of Science in Ecotoxicology, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or Toxicology.
Experience of working with chemical control legislations.
Minimum requirement is speaking, writing and reading fluently in English.
Good computer skills.
Good communication skills.
Meriting;
Longer experience of similar work assignments in chemical industry and/or within authorities.
Experience of classifying chemicals and creating Safety Data Sheets and extra plus if used Wercs when creating SDSs.
Experience of working with REACH and CLP.
Chemist and knowledge of substance identity.
Regulatory affairs experience within the feed sector.
Experience of TSCA reporting.
Additional information
This position will be placed in Perstorp in Southern Sweden.
