As a Product Stream Controller, you will be able to both create, develop, and influence your daily work. You will assure profitability of our future products and offers by providing analysis on relevant cost types, benchmarks and steering business-related decisions based on value for customers. You will do that in close cooperation with the Management team within the Product Stream “Safe Vehicle Automation” and play an important role in the Streams contribution to the overall profitability of Volvo Cars.
We are looking for capable people with a business orientated mindset. We are looking for people with either finance experience or people with direct experience in product development (R&D) or possibly both. The location is Gothenburg.What you’ll doYou will work together with the Business Controller and the Operational teams within the Product Stream in providing financial recommendations based on data analysis, benchmarks, and business cases to the Solution Management team. The main responsibilities of a Product Stream Controller include:
· Perform analysis on relevant data and use the insights to influence and steer decisions which have a financial impact.
· Actively engage in prioritization of back-logs and challenge resource allocation decisions to ensure highest possible value for the customer and Return on Investment.
· Create presentations and reports to visualize and communicate financial development and performance for different decision forums together with Business Controller.
· Create awareness and contribute to the fostering of a business orientated mindset by providing financial expertise together with an understanding of business goals as well as putting cost into context. Influence decision-making towards business target and proactively initiate corrective actions to ensure financial targets as well as challenge operations to meet them.
· Actively work with the Program Controllers in matters of content balancing and Material Cost bandwidth to achieve material cost targets, hence, contributing to a profitable end product.
· Work together with other teams within Finance in actively contributing to developing, implementing, and improving financial principles, processes, and tools (globally and locally) within given area of responsibility.
And this is your profile
You have a University degree within Finance or Industrial Engineering. In your career you have obtained significant business insight and nourished your analytical skills. To be successful in this role it’s important that you are able to understand, interpret, analyse and communicate financial information clearly and concisely in a contextual and visual manner. Good communication and collaborations skills will therefore be something you consider as part of your skills.
Furthermore, we are looking for a candidate with proven leadership and problem-solving skills combined with a desire for results, as you will act as crucial part in the financial steering of the Product Stream.
Desired qualifications:
· Experience of finance work within R&D or other areas of Volvo Cars.
· Experience of Product Development processes.
· Good system understanding and efficient data handling. Experience in Pecca Procost and PowerBI merited.
