ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is looking for a Product Sustainability Engineer in business segment Industrial. The business area focuses on the efficient flow for vehicles and goods accessibility to buildings. With a complete portfolio of industrial door and docking solutions under the ASSA ABLOY brand, and an extensive service and maintenance offer, we help customers ensure reliable, safe and energy efficient operations.
The position is full time, and you will work with our R&D teams in Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Romania and the Czech Republic. You will be part of a team of eleven colleagues (eight in Sweden) and report to the Manager of our Engineering Excellence team.
The divisional headquarters of ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is located a ten-minute walk from the train station in Landskrona.
What you will be doing
As our Product Sustainability Engineer, you will be responsible for setting regulatory requirements and targets for product fulfilment and for creating and maintaining regulatory product documentation.
Standards: RoHS and REACH
EPD, Environmental Product Declarations
BPD, Building Product Declarations
You will also manage other sustainability related aspects for our product portfolio in cooperation with key stakeholders within Product Development and the Supply Chain organization.
This includes:
defining working methods, processes and routines
Setting sustainability plans and targets
Driving Change Initiatives
providing support and training
following up on KPI's
You will be the internal expert and stay continuously updated on worldwide applicable regulations and standards and as well business trends. You should expect to communicate on a daily basis with colleagues around the world, to secure a unified approach on processes and the way we work. You might also be participating in internal and external committees and working groups.
What we are looking for
To succeed in the role we believe you have:
a university degree in science
a major in sustainability and/or chemistry
a few years of related work experience
a thorough technical understanding
Leadership skills and experience from work with regulatory requirements and electromechanical products will be a merit.
You are able to communicate and collaborate with management, project leaders and engineers. You are also comfortable with coordinating with external partners who are involved in the work with environment related tests and declarations.
As a person you are an inspiring educator; pragmatic, thorough and communicative. In addition to this you have a strong drive, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to cooperate in a multi-functional global organization.
Since English is our corporate language, we expect you to be able to speak, read and write freely when interacting with your international colleagues.
