The Production Director is accountable for the development and deliveries of their department and manages all the employees of the same. In this case a team of Producers.
They maintain oversight of all projects, ensuring the identification and communication of product goals, project progress, quality, and risks.
The Production Director supports Producers with project communication and reporting with external stakeholders and executive management. Position ensures strong linkage with the various stakeholders of the Paradox Group.
This role comes with a lot of responsibility; you will be expected to lead your teams towards a shared goal as well as being accountable for milestone deliveries. You will play an important part in the project leadership to make sure game hits expected milestones while enabling the team to collaborate effectively to ensure game quality.
The Production Director is an expert in leading game development projects. With excellent people and communication skills, they keep one eye focused on the team and the other on the management and business aspects of the project.
Responsibilities
Ensure all games are on track to meet their goals and stay within the studio’s goals and creative direction.
Ensure all games are delivered on time and within budget
Mentor key project management areas of scheduling, budget, quality, communication and time management while motivating and guiding your teams.
Proactively search for issues and unclarities and help the team and individuals clear blockers and confusion that are slowing them down.
Ensure visibility and predictability of project status and communicate to main stakeholders
Work with the Studio Manager and Game Director in regards to creation and management of Studio Game Plans for current and future projects.
Represents Studio for assigned projects during the Greenlight process.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate talent for the Production team; providing guidance for their individual professional development in order to maintain an effective team structure.
Foster a dynamic and collaborative team environment; including but not limited to coordinating educational opportunities for the team, coordinating mentorships, and team-building.
On a personal level, you have a strong sense of ownership for the end result, and excellent collaboration skills. You constantly seek out other people and studios for collaboration and alignment in an effort to learn and grow your skills and knowledge.
