PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As a Production Engineer within the Alstom Locomotive Production Engineering department, the candidate will be responsible for the Engineering Mechanical activities inside the department. He/She has to be a focal point for all Engineering Mechanical topics where Production Engineering is involved. This means to be able to lead the internal/external mechanical engineering activities and to work in strictly contact with other functions like Production, Quality, Procurement and Producti introduction.
The main task of the production engineer is to provide support to production to ensure that the production staff can carry out the work in an efficient and safe way with the right quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively participate in and drive continuous improvements and streamline production within their area of responsibility
Keep updated on changes in instructions and regulations, Trainmate, GTB etc.
Actively contact and collaborate with other competencies and support functions as well as other divisions to achieve set goals
Ensure that the company's goals are met within the company's own work area: work environment, environment, quality, and road safety
Prepare, for the project, the necessary documentation for the installation
Together with production managers, create activity list for assembly
Create work orders for the project's basic scope in appropriate systems
Develop the necessary production tools and production aids
Develop layout proposals together with production
Support production planning
Produce the necessary documentation
Participate in vehicle inspection / inspection
Prepare measures of inspection points in required systems
Compile materials and estimated hours for project managers to offer additional work
Review drawings from a production perspective
Provide feedback on design solutions to ensure that they are production-friendly
Give views on how the drawing structure is created
Participate in vehicle inspections
BOM list (depending on tenders, this responsibility lies on either methods or engineering)
Together with other functions, estimate hours and lead times
Qualifications
4 years of professional experience, better if in railways business
Mechanical Engineering Bachelor Degree
Good written and spoken English is essential for this interesting position
Excellent mechanical skills
Knowledge of welding technology
Good communication and coordination
Target oriented behavior
Problem solving skills
Willing to take over responsibility
Strongly motivation to work in an international organization
