Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Production Engineer to join our passionate team in Skellefteå and Västerås.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
The Production Engineer will participate in and drive projects, investigation and actions with the purpose to solve problems and increase efficiency in manufacturing. You will be participating in the implementation of new equipment and play an important role in solving quality problems.
You will be working intimately with the Operations team in Upstream, developing training material, training staff in lean manufacturing principles and methods, instructing on standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Specifically, you have experience with driving actions or projects to improve efficiency in manufacturing as well as implementing cost-reductive changes.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assessing and analyzing manufacturing, suggesting actions to improve efficiency or initiate problem solving
Support managers in setting up ways of working in manufacturing related to, for instance, lean practices
Maximize productivity of process, machinery and workers
Participate in and run meetings with customers and suppliers
Participate in and drive projects for new equipment or problem solving workshops

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
Bachelor or Masters degree of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience from similar industries like paper & pulp, chemical or refinery
Experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts, SPC and capability analysis
Very valuable (but not required) if you have experience from battery manufacturing
Good to have project management experience
Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
Highly organized and result-driven
An eye for detail
Proactive and goes beyond expectations
Exceptionally good negotiation and problem-solving skills
Has a can do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
