Northvolt is looking for experienced production engineers to join our production technology team in Västerås.

The production engineer will be the expert for his/her process at Northvolt Labs. He/she will drive projects and define actions with the purpose to increase efficiency in production. The production engineer will use his/her specific problem solving techniques to minimize downtime and ensure process stability.
We are building and expanding - therefore you will be participating in the implementation of new equipment and play an important role about all manufacturing related issues.
Whilst learning one of the most advanced technologies, you will be working intimately with the operations team developing training material, training staff in lean manufacturing principles and methods, instructing on standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyse and evaluate production processes to maximise productivity of processes, machinery and workers (reducing downtime, lowering cost and ensuring safety)
Initiate and drive problem solving workshops by using methods like DoE, 5W and 8D
Understand and reduce process variation by using tools like SPC
Develop data driven approaches to analyse process performance
Enable new product introductions for your assigned process
Support in the development and modification of FMEAs and Control Plans
Create and modify standard operation procedures and work instructions
Develop and train direct labour
Participate in and drive projects for new equipment
Participate in and run meetings with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholder
Skills & Requirements
You hold a Bachelor or Masters degree of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience from industries like paper & pulp, chemical, refinery, plastics, food, pharmaceutical, semiconductors, automotive or batteries.
Process engineering skills with the capability to identify critical process parameters (data analysis, root cause analysis etc.)
Experience in initiating and leading continuous imrovement projects in a production factory
Profound knowledge in one of the following processes (Mixing, Coating, Drying, Pressing, Slitting, Welding, Material Handling, Visual inspection & Testing procedures)
Experiences in project management and/or auditing are highly valued
Personal characteristics:
Highly organized, result driven and proactive
Excellent communicators at all levels of organization who know how to involve colleagues in problem solving and to work closely with direct labour for developing optimal solutions
Strong teamplayers who care about others especially when their deliveries are more critical
Eye for detail to find the root cause for a problem and passionate to find new approaches
Eager to improve himself/herself and adapt quickly to new situations
