Production Engineer - Olofström

The section Production Engineering Assembly is a part of Assembly Volvo Car Body Components (VCBC), Olofström. We are responsible for rationalisations, technical improvement in the area of product, process and product quality. In cooperation with Manufacturing Engineering we find the best solutions in planning, launching new projects as product and process changes, manning, environment and health and safety. We are today 25 employees in Production Engineering of totally 500 employees in Assembly.
As a Production Engineer - Olofström you will be responsible for a specific production area and be close to the productionlines and equipment. Your main contact will be Supervisors, production teams, maintenance, logistics and Manufacturing Engineering. Your role in the improvement work will positively affect the VCBC Production result and goal on our way to meet 800000 cars in year 2020. You thrive on the factory floor in the meeting with co-workers and your enthusiasm rubs off in production and maintenance teams. We are looking for someone who is promoting, structured and has a well developed interpersonal skills. We appreciate that you are loyal and have a business mindset. In addition to that, we want you to be flexible and familiar with several different activities at the same time.
Main responsibilities
* Perform follow-up measurements in process and equipment relating to productivity and geometry. Initiate/undertake action at deviation
* Support production team and Supervisor in summarise production data, both for daily meetings and for improvement meetings
* In pre-series production be involved as an expert in product and process preparation and the buyoff of new equipment's
* Participate in Launchplanning as well as installation, commissioning, line testing and quality assurance of new equipment and products
* Responsible to analyse and identify and implement activities to ensure that the product or process meets the demands and goals
* Mapping of the areas investment needs and responsible to project manage smaller investments
Required qualifications
* B.Sc in Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
* Experience from assembly techniques as sheet metal
* Experience and used to work with IT tools
* Educated in 6-sigma
* Knowledge in English, written and spoken
* Experience from product or process development within automotive industry is meritorious
