Our unique iron ore concentrate with its quality and environmental benefits is in great demand among the world's steel mills. Our target goal is set at two million tonnes of finished product in annual production.

About the Position:
We are looking for a driven and engaged Production Geologist who wants to be involved and contribute to sustainable mining operations in Pajala.
As a Production Geologist, you are part of the Mine Planning Department that is responsible for both short and long-term mining planning, surveying, geology and grade control.
The work you will conduct will be in an environment of constant change placing a high demand on safety and safety awareness.
Our mining operations are conducted in Kaunisvaara which is where this position will be based.
Duties:
As a production geologist, you work in a team that is responsible for the mining planning at Kaunisvaara mine. You will work in close collaboration with our mine colleagues, so an important part of the work is to convey updated information regarding the mine's geology, both orally and in writing. The work is based on diamond drilling and sampling where the results are processed and interpreted. Another important task also includes the follow-up of mined ore concentrations and comparison with the plan/forecast. You will also participate in the development of the mine's ore base by mapping diamond drill cores and ore interpretation.
Education and Qualifications:
We are looking for a university graduate in geology. You are required to be competent in Microsoft Office, mine planning software and/or other CAD programmes.
It is advantageous if you have previously worked with structural geology and/or block modelling.
English and/or Swedish is a requirement and Finnish is a merit.

You are interested in production issues and are both committed and interested in solving daily issues. You are flexible and take responsibility for your work tasks which you structure, plan and drive efficiently.
You work well with others. As a person you are calm, responsive, and flexible with an interest, willingness and the ability to help others whilst striving to deliver solutions. You are highly efficient at working collaboratively, and listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively.
Contractual Terms:
Full-time, permanent position. Shift work may be required.

A valid Code B drivers’ licence.
