In this role, you will be responsible for managing a group of 11 operators in the production of our stainless steel within the Hot Rolling unit. This is a new role, so you’ll have an amazing opportunity to develop it and great possibilities to grow.
As a Production manager, you will collaborate a lot not only with your colleagues in Avesta but also with your counterpart in our plant in Tornio, Finland. One of your main responsibilities will be to develop this collaboration, sharing ways of working, know-how and take cooperation to the next level.


Your role:
Responsibility for planning, directing, and monitoring all production activities within your designated process area
Ensure that all requirements of client deliveries are met
Develop, set, and follow up on departmental goals and on our organizational ways of working
Track and follow up on performance and ensure the area’s KPI’s are fulfilled
Lead and initiate the implementation of continuous improvement strategies within given process group
Work continuously on work-environment, health & safety

About you:
We are looking for an individual who is a well-organized leader with a deep interest in people and the steel industry. We would like to see an experienced team builder who collaborates well and inspires others to achieve best possible results.
Bachelor of science in mechanical/machine/industrial engineering
Experience in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry as well as leadership skills from recent managerial roles is a must
Fluency both in Swedish and English (written & verbal)
Experience in the modern Operations Management principles: Lean, Kaizen and Six Sigma is advantage
