At Rock Tools, part of the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions business area, we’re now looking for a driven and outgoing Production Manager to the production area Tophammer Short, where we produce drill bits, shank adapters and components. What’s ahead?
Among other things, we’re currently in the middle of our SMART program, with the goal of creating world-class operations within our division through a seamless flow of information by implementing SAP 4/Hana in our operations. This will transform how we run our operations around the world and set the scene for efficient value creation in the future.
Your mission
In this position, you plan, direct, and monitor all production activities within your unit to maximize the use of resources and meet established production specifications and schedules. By analyzing production, maintenance, and delivery performance, you and our team identify problems and recommend solutions that will improve performance. You lead a team of flow managers and also have a direct reporting technology and planning manager as well as an Operational Excellence developer. In our mission, safety is number one, and we always find ways to develop our already strong safety culture.
Also included in your mission is to:
Embrace digital and process development and be a strong change advocate during our SMART transformation.
Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures through a team of production planners.
Allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity.
Analyze, understand and improve quality performance in cooperation with the Quality department.
Liaise with Product Line managers to understand their product needs.
Develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating product needs into existing manufacturing activities.
Liaise with the maintenance department to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules.
Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of first line managers who are responsible for various production activities such as turning, milling, drilling, button pressing, shot peening, grinding and packaging.
The location for this position is in Sandviken.
Your character
We’re looking for an experienced manager, preferably with experience in production – a confident leader who can identify improvements in processes and structures. It’s beneficial to have a degree within engineering, previous experience of leading other leaders, as well as knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma. As we act in a global environment, you need excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, both verbally and written.
