Northvolt has an exciting job opportunity for you if you like production and are passionate about working with a team, contributing to the worlds greenest battery and want to make a difference. The opening is a role as Production Manager for our downstream including all production steps from mixing to cell assembly. The position is based in beautiful Skellefteå and is part of the site management team who shares you passion for battery manufacturing.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories where Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
As Production Manager Downstream you will lead a brand new world class manufacturing unit including planning as well as driving all production activities within the Downstream unit. Areas of responsibility will be to meet established production specifications and schedules with high focus on safety, quality, volume, productivity, cost and as well contribute to our great team.
As a leader at Northvolt you will have the opportunity to build a competent team from scratch, capable to scale Northvolt’s operations in Sweden and beyond.
In general we expect you to have experience in the field and it is a merit if you have been driving medium to large, innovative and challenging manufacturing plants before.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Contribute in the development and implementation of manufacturing procedures. Allocate labour and capital resources to maximize productivity.
Analyze production data to identify problems and recommend solutions (for example changes to procedures, workflow, or equipment) that will improve performance.
Encourage and empower the organisation to implement continuous improvements.
Liaise with functional or operational area managers (for example in planning, logistics, maintenance, technology, quality) and together adopt the present to the future.
Develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules and implement future needs into existing manufacturing activities.
Together with maintenance plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules.
Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of highly motivated managers who are responsible for various production activities such as, machine operation, processing and assembly.
Drive implementation of new methods, tools and processes and sharing of best practices.
Foster a culture with strong focus on environment, health and safety to meet local legislation, policies and far beyond

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
Master of science in engineering
Proven Leadership in large Manufacturing Organizations (100+ people)
Experience in the modern Operations Management principles: Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma and digital solutions
Documented leadership training
Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
Structured problem solving methods
Proactive and goes beyond expectations
Has a can do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
Ability to work in a high profile and complex international environment
