reference number 311-1089-09 Professor in Business Administration, specialization in Marketing The eligibility criteria for employment as professor at Umeå University follows from the Higher Education Ordinance (Högskoleförordningen), chapter 4 section 5 (www.sweden.gov.se/sb/d/574/a/21541), and from the Appointment rules for teachers at Umeå University (see link below).To be eligible as professor, scientific as well as pedagogic proficiency is required.The scientific proficiency is demonstrated through independent, high-quality research work, ability to plan and lead research, and ability to impart information about research to the surrounding community.Academic competence must have been proven through research work which considerably exceeds what is required for appointment as Associated Professor.Pedagogic proficiency means having broad, solid and up to date knowledge of his/her subject, ability to structure and organize the mass of knowledge in his/her own teaching, ability to motivate and communicate with students, and ability to renew his/her teaching.The candidate should have a solid research background in the marketing field.Special weight will be accorded to research qualifications with a profile on either of the following research areas: 1.Consumer markets and consumer behavior 2.Service marketing 3.Marketing perspectives on innovation, product development, and business networks The academic skills should be demonstrated through international publications in high-ranked journals.Furthermore, the candidate is expected to produce evidence on ability to initiate and lead large research programs, in particularly externally funded research projects where funding has been obtained in the course of national or international competition.In terms of pedagogical proficiency, special weight will be accorded to well-documented skills in teaching on the master and doctoral levels.Importance will also be attached to the applicant's ability to lead an academic community and to develop and manage members of staff, as well as to his/her ability to collaborate within and outside the academic community.The ranking of candidates will be based primarily on scientific proficiency and research profile.The place of work is Umeå and a high degree of attendance at the School is required.The salary is set after qualifications.Please indicate your expectations to salary.
