Research Environment
University and its forerunner enacted in the 1970s as the first academic context in Sweden where entrepreneurship research, education and outreach were integrated into a subject area. In the late 1980s the first Swedish chair in entrepreneurship was enacted and the university organized national as well as international doctoral programs in entrepreneurship. Today Linnaeus University carries the legacy of extending research on entrepreneurship in theory and practice across a variety of business sectors and into the social, sustainable, aesthetic and processual dynamics of entrepreneuring.

Job description
Main tasks will be to drive an active research program on contemporary entrepreneurship theory and practice on international level of scholarship, actively build a research milieu in two integrated campuses, lead an education development on Master’s and Doctoral levels, supervise doctoral students, and foster an active international network of collaborations within entrepreneurship and related research fields.

The applicant is a leader in the academic environment with a community outreach that puts entrepreneurship at the forefront in the faculty. The holder of the post will be an active partner in Linnaeus University initiatives on entrepreneurship such as the Entrepreneurial University and the Bridge-program - a strategic collaboration with IKEA. The development of the research environment is expected to take place in collaboration with local, regional, national, and international stakeholders.

Requirements
The qualifications for an appointment as professor are assessed according to the Higher Education Ordinance (HF 4 kap 3 §).

Requirements for the position are Doctoral degree within the field of business studies and demonstrated pedagogical skills. Excellent ability to carry out research and teaching in English is a requirement, as well as high interpersonal skills and experience of heading successful research projects. The ability to lead integration, of research, teaching and outreach in the development of the subject group is an absolute requirement for the position.

Other assessment grounds
The professorship’s research is focused on contemporary entrepreneurship theory and sustainable value creation in the private and public sector as well as in the civic society, linking to related fields in business studies. Therefore, research and teaching experience from these particular fields within business studies is considered an advantage. The research environment enjoys support from the region: consequently demonstrated ability to collaborate with industry and organizations is an additional merit. Accordingly theoretical work that is relevant also outside the academic community and produces actionable knowledge is of special interest. Furthermore, demonstrated ability to obtain external funding and publish in high-ranking, international scientific journals is considered a merit. Entrepreneurship is one of the focus areas of the regional Kamprad Family foundation, which is expected to become a major financier for the development of the research environment. The holder of the professorship is expected to have an interest towards day-to-day development of research environment. Willingness to settle in the Växjö or Kalmar region will be highly valued.

Relative importance of assessment ground
In the appointment process, equal importance will be attached to scientific and pedagogical skills. Since the majority of the professors and associate professors at the faculty are men, female applicants are particularly welcome. Positive special treatment may be applied.
