The curriculum at the Umeå Institute of Design consists of a three year bachelor programme taught in Swedish, and three, two-year Masters' programmes taught in English.In the fall term of 2006, the institute has a projected enrolment of ca 130 students, as well as a staff of ca 35.The Institute of Design works in close collaboration with industry, both in the study programmes as well as in the expanding field of applied research.Within these research programmes, applied research is financed by some of Sweden's largest industries.The Research Department is growing rapidly, with a current enrolment of 10 researchers.Professor in Industrial Design with focus on Transportation Design We are currently accepting applications for a full time position as professor of Industrial Design with a emphasis on Transportation Design.Major responsibilities will include serving as professor and programme leader for the Master's programme in Transportation Design.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and further developing the content and direction of the internationally established programme.You will be expected to take active part in teaching and lecturing and will be working alongside our assistant programme leader and the programme co-ordinator.Additional responsibilities include maintaining and developing contacts with our external partners, evaluating new applicants to the programme, tutoring examination projects and the continued development and refinement of our educational practices.You will also be expected to contribute and participate in research and development together with members of our research group.
