Professor of Information Systems Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) invites applicants for the position of Professor of Information Systems. JIBS aims to be a pioneering and globally renowned business school with genuine international activities, focusing on entrepreneurship and renewal in industry and commerce. At present we have about 200 employees with 39 full professors and 1900 students. JIBS is one of four independent academic schools within Jönköping University. http://www.jibs.se Our mission is to serve the post-industrial society by seeking to educate the best knowledge workers. We consider Information Systems to be a design-oriented discipline that generates new knowledge about the design and use of IT-artifacts by people, firms, and society at large. Information Systems and Business Informatics are important in the Business School context collaborating with the successful research centers and education programs within JIBS. Recently, Health Informatics has emerged as a growing research theme at JIBS. Other important research themes are digital innovation, enterprise systems, and online learning. JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS The candidate is expected to conduct research, research management, supervision of doctoral candidates and master students, as well as teaching. Prioritized tasks include cultivating the research profile, fund raising, and directing research projects. Other important tasks are to give seminars and conferences and to participate in research administration. Since research management and supervision are parts of the main tasks, experience of developing excellent research environments is prioritized - we are looking for a driving force with ideas and research visions for the development of the research environment and an interdisciplinary outreach towards entrepreneurship and innovation research in collaboration with actors in practice. Candidates for this chair position should have an interest in networking and collaboration in the intersection of business and information systems for bridging development, implementation, and use of IS in business processes. Candidates should have an excellent research record in any area of information systems, management and IT, or informatics, also a track record of generating external funding, as well as research supervision and leadership experience. Well-documented teaching and supervision experience is valued. Administrative appointments, such as Dean, Associate Dean, Research Manager, or service on external assessment committees, are also valuable. Experience from managing collaboration projects within an academy as well as between the academy and the surrounding society, is desirable, as well as work-life experience from outside the university. Great emphasis will be put on personal qualities such as the ability to collaborate across disciplinary borders. Professional command of the English language is a requirement.
