Mid Sweden University announces a post at the Department of Natural Science, Campus Sundsvall PROFESSOR of Organic Chemistry Ref.nr.MIUN 2008/774 The department of natural Science offers education and has research in biology, geography, chemistry and forest-industry technology.The main activity at the department is research.Organic chemistry is a central part of chemistry at the university and forms the basis for the new program in molecular science.Main tasks: To co-operate with other researchers in further development of organic chemistry and strengthen the long-term research strategy at the department.The research shall form a part of the university profile "Forest as a Resource" through internally as well as externally financed projects.The position is directed towards design and synthesis of functional compounds with desired properties for applications within material science, surface chemistry, fibre science, and the biosciences.Apart from research, the position includes teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervision of PhD-students, development of the undergraduate programs in molecular science and parts of the new international master program in pulp and paper technology.Research and teaching should be conducted in close co-operation with national and international research groups in the relevant areas.
