Faculty of Economic Sciences, Communication and IT CTF - Service Research Center is recruiting a professor of service research Karlstad University is recruiting a professor who can contribute to the development of the service research field and closely related study programmes at Karlstad University. Service research is a prioritized area at the university and Karlstad Business School. The Service Research Center (CTF) has a research staff of fifty-five, of which three are professors and over twenty are doctoral students. Research is focused on three areas: organization and management of service enterprises, service innovation and customer-oriented service. Research is pursued in subareas such as quality development, work environment, market and service orientation, relation marketing, service development and organizational change. CTF's research is relevant to private as well as public organizations. Duties The successful candidate has a qualification profile that matches one or several of our main areas and has good abilities for cooperation with private and public organizations. The duties of the post include responsibility for attracting external research funding. Since long, CTF and Karlstad University have given priority to internationally viable research and expect employees to publish in internationally renowned science journals. The successful candidate is also required to have well-established international networks to support and develop research projects. All professors at Karlstad University are expected to participate in education at all university levels. Duties include responsibility for teaching in the service management field. The appointment as professor is funded 50 percent by CTF. The remaining half is funded by the professor's external research grants or by teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Qualification requirements and assessment grounds A person who has shown both academic and teaching skills is qualified for appointment as a professor. As much attention will be given to the assessment of teaching skills as to academic skills. The position requires excellent cooperative skills and ability to function well in academic and business contexts. We would welcome a professor with an interest in and talent for leading research activities and contributing to the development of CTF, which is probably the largest research environment in the service research sector and which has a strong international network.
