Program Design Manager

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Program Design Manager to join our program team in Västerås.

Job scope:

Lead and manage the design development of Västerås Labs Campus: site, facilities and infrastructural designs. Develop master design and manage site master plan in alignment of program strategy.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Overall responsible for the design development and management of site master plan including structures, roads and logistical communications, landscape, utilities infrastructure, etc.

Lead the preliminary design work for internal customer requirements, including building structure(s), external- and internal layout designs and related cost estimates in feasibility- and pre studies.

Develop and implement design strategies in compliance of Northvolt overall standards.

Assure design compliance in terms of regulatory and applicable standards.

Establish and define design scope and deliverables, establish milestone plan and drive execution of project designs.

Plan, arrange, coordinate and follow-up design reviews, project activities and deliverables.

Manage internal customer and stakeholder requirements.

Responsible for allocated budgets and cost follow-up.

Work closely with and progress the project together with Northvolt experts and specialists from technical, procurement, quality, construction, finance areas.

Set-up and develop Northvolt long-term design strategy.

Project close out and hand-over to the internal customer/Northvolt R&D/operations organization.

Drive project under the Northvolt strategy framework.



Qualifications/education/experience

- Degree in BSc in Civil Engineering/ Architecture or comparable field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management of complex Capex projects
- Project Management certification (PMP, CPM or similar) is a plus
- Experience with li-ion battery factory design planning and/or R&D facilities is highly preferred.
- Leadership and coordinating skills in a highly flexible and frequent changing environment is a must
- Exceptionally good negotiation and problem-solving skill

Specific skills (eg specific programmes, languages, certifications etc)

- Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
- Highly organized and result-driven
- Customer focused
- Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
- Ability to work in a high profile and often high-pressured international environment
