Program Director

We currently have a unique opening at Tobii as Program Director for our R&D Glasses program!
Tobii glasses has since the first generation, launched more than a decade ago, been one of Tobii’s most successful product and is the natural choice when doing behavioural studies in real-life conditions. The product has gone through a rapid evolution becoming more and more unintrusive and easy to use. Today the glasses offering contains not only the hardware but an entire software suite designed to offer an optimized solution to minimize the time from data collection to market insight.
The Glasses R&D program is one of two programs in the Tobii Wearable R&D organization, it currently consists of 4 cross-functional R&D teams located both in Sweden and internationally.
The Program Director ensures that the sum of the project portfolio fulfils the overarching product strategy goals and that the program organization can execute the requested tasks/projects efficiently by ensuring that the program is correctly organized, staffed and that the priorities between the project are clear for all. To support you with the operational execution you have several project managers and product owners reporting directly to you. To help you with the organization you will be assisted by the line managers from the Wearable management team which you will also be a part of.
The Program Director is responsible for:
Ensuring that the sum of all R&D activities for glasses fulfils the product strategy
Contribute to the product strategies, product business plans and segments business plans
Actively participate in Product Steering Group meetings to help clarify/paint the vision, set high-level objectives and how to get there.
Help shape ideas into actionable opportunities.
Forecast and follow-up on staffing and costs in the program
Report on program performance
Evaluate and drive changes to the program setup and execution
Support 5 direct reports (product & project managers)

To be successful in this role you need to be an inspiring and coaching leader with deep technical knowledge and an agile mindset. We believe that you have been working as a project manager or product owner for cross-functional teams for several years or that you have been working as an engineering manager. We also believe that you have experience working with product development both on a tactical and strategical level.
Communication both to manage expectations for stakeholders and to clarify goals and missions to the teams is vital for this role.
