What we offer?
Wheel Suspension are a part of the ART Body Control, we are focused on the customers driving experience and have a bold target; to be the leader in the areas of Driving Dynamics & Comfort! At Wheel Suspension we are passionate in developing technology for Body Control that enables us to reach that target. We have a wide variety of competences since we work with everything from Build-to-print parts like subframes and link arms to developing our own software in-house.
Right now, we are in the start-up phase for a joint development program together with an external partner. In the program we will work with development of wheel suspension systems with focus on our active & semi active systems such as Continuously Controlled Dampers and Air Suspension. We are now looking for a Senior Assignment Leader for the program, are you up for the challenge of working with alignment and communication between two different product development organisations? Then this is the place for you to prosper, here you will get the opportunity to grow and gain experience both on a technical, organisational and cultural level.
The program will span over several years, most of the work will be located at our Gothenburg office but occasional travels to meet suppliers, participate in vehicle builds or complete vehicle verification activities are to be expected.
What you’ll do
You will work in a highly motivated and diverse Agile development team with members from different backgrounds and experience and towards a broad variety of external suppliers from various countries. The team will mainly focus on mechanical engineering, but you will have the overall responsibility for coordinating both mechanical, electrical and software requirements and deliveries.
Your responsibility will be to manage the collaboration and align on time, technology and cost, you will mediate in technology and commercial considerations between different stakeholders. You will work international and cultural awareness will be required.
Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for you who are passionate about cars and new technology. We believe that you have a university degree (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent competence. We see that you possess solid knowledge within product development and engineering work on system level, with several years of experience within the automotive industry. Experience of working with wheel suspension is valued but not a requirement. Knowledge in CAD, component design and packaging is recommended but your daily tasks will not consist of CAD work. We are global company and therefore you have to be fluent in English.
At Volvo we work according to agile principles where teamwork is a corner stone. Therefore, being a team player is an essential quality we are looking for. It is also meritorious to have worked according to Scrum and be familiar with the SAFe frame work.
You have experience from managing and coordinating assignments and suppliers. You are solid leader, comfortable leading cross-functional teams in an international environment together with global suppliers towards a common goal. In order to succeed in this role, we see that you are a great communicator and mediator, who takes on the challenges confidently and with a great amount of business integrity.
