Program Manager Child Protection Initiative

Program Manager, Child Protection Initiative, Save the Children Duty Station: Preferably Stockholm, possibly other member based duty stations. The position reports to the Director of the Child Protection Initiative, who will be based in Stockholm, Sweden and the team will be coordinated from distance, if necessary. The assignment period is one year, with a possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible and no later than March 1, 2010. Salary level and contract: The contract will be signed by SC Sweden and abide to its internal employment regulations. The salary level will be in the region of 60,000-70,000 USD/year and will take into consideration the skills and professional experience as well as the duty station. Purpose of the post: Manage and coordinate programs associated with Save the Children's Child Protection Initiatives initiative to protect children from violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation. For a description of tasks of this position, please refer to the full vacancy announcement on Save the Children Sweden's website: http://www3.rb.se/jobb/cgi-shl/User_Applicants.exe?action=VIEW_SPECIFIC_JOB&jobId=277&publishLanguage=0 Requirements * A minimum of 8 years experience on child protection from an international humanitarian and/or child rights organisation in a senior position ensuring program effectiveness, including overseeing program implementation, monitoring and evaluation and maintaining positive relationship with partner organisations and external agencies. * Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, coordination and mentoring skills, including the ability to both lead and be a member of a team, and of delivering significant results * Relevant University degree in political science, social science, international relations or similar.. * Strong programmatic, strategic planning and analytic skills.
