What we offer.
We at Supply Chain Management (SCM) Volvo Cars ensures the global supply of parts to our plants as well as cars to dealers and end customers in the most efficient and lean way possible. In close collaboration with people inside and outside the company, we drive and lead the supply chain from the supplier to the customer.
Program Management within SCM is a global team that leads the logistics activities and implement the logistics deliverables according to Volvo Product Development System (VPDS). The scope includes new car programs and platforms, model year upgrades (COMY), the knock-down business (KD) and other special projects.
What you will do.
The SCM Program Managers responsibility includes inbound logistics engineering, outbound logistics engineering, customs, packaging engineering and supplier logistics assurance. As SCM Program Manager you will collaborate cross functionally within the Volvo organization as well as being the logistics contact towards external suppliers in the programs.
The SCM Program Management team is a part of the Operations Planning & SCM Business Excellence organization which reports to the Head of Supply Chain Management. The Program Management team currently consists of 7 program managers located in Sweden, China and Belgium and a parallel team of 2 Program Managers working in the US plant.
Main Responsibilities
• To lead the logistics part of a car program, leading engineering resources in a cross functional project team assigned by the line organization to the project
• To lead with overall responsibility of the total logistics investment & operational budget for a project from concept phase and through industrialization phase
• To take an active part in the Technical Program team of Volvo Cars and secure the SCM deliveries and demands to the Launch Management team as well as the Technical Program team
• To plan and drive the program progress from SCM perspective and report out milestones as well as required deliverables to the program stakeholder
• To lead optimisation and changes in the logistics process in line with program demands and SCM strategies
• To provide required information about program content and program progress to the SCM organisation by reporting out milestones, to ensure a consolidated Logistics input into the program.
Who are you?
Requirements for the role:
• University degree in Master of Science in Engineering or equal qualifications from experience
• Fluent in English, written and verbal
• Project Management experience
• Knowledge of fundamental logistics
• The position will focus on car programs globally, willingness to travel globally is a requirement
• Willingness to relocate globally is a plus
