Solokraft AB is a Swedish social impact business providing environmentally friendly solutions for sustainable development. We market solar power and water purification technologies for business and residential applications, targeting primarily developing countries and disaster relief organizations.
The Programme Coordinator responsible for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will design, implement, monitor, and evaluate the Company’s activities, contracts, and partnerships in the region, ensuring good governance and timely completion of projects. Duties and Responsibilities
Manage ongoing and future project contracts and accounts in the region;
Identify and explore new opportunities through extensive networking with various stakeholders such as committiees, ministries, and the public and private sector;
Monitor UN tenders, prepare and submit bids;
Win new contracts by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating terms and conditions, and integrating contract requirements with business operations;
Keep up to date with relevant local laws, polices, and regulations;
Coordinate at the local level towards promoting results ownership by the counterparts;
Conduct project assessments through field visits to project sites. Collect and analyze data. Organize and conduct interviews with key stakeholders and project beneficiaries;
Support local project managers and consultants;
Participate in project committies, commission meetings, and local and interantional workshops and conferences;
Prepare annual work plans and project documents;
Prepare results-based mid-term reviews and project completion reports;
Prepare communication pieces and advocacy materials;
Qualifications and Skills
At least five years’ previous experience and proven track-record as Project/Programme Coordinator;
Documented experience from working in the MENA region as a civil servant and/or working for international bodies active in MENA;
Fundamental understanding of country context in MENA;
Experienced in cross-cultural communication, familiar with cultures of both MENA and Western areas;
Experience from working, traveling, and living in challenging environments;
Cross-functional knowledge of issues, government policies and programs related to water and solar energy;
Good technical understanding of solar power and water purification technologies;
Master’s degree in a relevant field. PhD degree or similar experience from working in a scientific environment preferred;
Entrepreneurial, nimble, and fast moving. Driven and goal oriented;
Able to build deep and strong interpersonal relationships;
Ability to work collaboratively;
Strong analytical skills;
Fluency in English and Arabic required. Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
