Job Description


To support our continued growth and success, We are looking to hire experienced Program Directors to be part of our global Program/ Project Management practice.
The Program Director will create and deliver multiple critical customer programmes/projects that would be considered of high complexity, value and risk within agreed time, cost and quality parameters and delivering agreed business benefits.
This is being achieved by developing and maintaining effective working relationships with programme/project sponsors and other key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure full commitment and support for the success of the project.
The projects will happen in an international environment so candidates must be flexibile on International travel.
The job holder will support, coach and mentor team members. At the same time she/he will play an active role in the development of best PM practice in collaboration with the Global Practice Director Program Management and Project Management
Essential duties and accountabilities:
• Manage the interface with both the client and internal organisation at a senior management level.
• Create, develop and agree comprehensive programme/project plan(s) to manage programme/project delivery and ensure required resources are made available at the highest level.
• Ensure that all programme/project strategies, targets and objectives are clearly defined and understood by key stakeholders.
• Provide leadership to the wider project team to ensure a consistent, quality approach is adopted and to ensure all team members’ personal development requirements are met.
• Drive programmes forward, report on key programme deliverables and stop workstreams that are ineffective.
• Support presales initiatives by calculations, contract reviews, risk assessments
• Provide 'end to end' project management and process support to the client using appropriate project management tools & techniques.
• Establish and implement effective change management strategies for the programme (including communications).
• Use relevant programme/project management benchmarking data to improve performance and communicate best practice.
• Perform project audits and develop respective “get well plans”
• Manage crisis situations in a professional manner
• Use escalation management as an effective tool to drive programs to success
Overall required competence:
• An understanding of the strategic impact of programme/project management and commercial/contractual principles, and wide experience of formal programme/project management methodologies, tools and techniques
• Ability to work with senior clients to define change, provide confidence in the direction of the programme/project and then deliver programmes/projects that produce major business outcomes.
• Ability to motivate cross functional team members to ensure delivery to cost, quality and time.
• Ability to manage several complex tasks simultaneously and delegate effectively.
• Ability to liaise with and understand the strategic direction of senior management within IFS.
• Proven leadership qualities as a project manager, team builder, strategic thinker and effective communicator.
• Proven track record at senior level, able to influence and negotiate at a senior level.
• Full understanding of finance, commercial and contractual principles.
• Technical background, very strong planning skills and very good relationship management skills.
• Leadership and management of project/programme teams, both virtual and matrix management.
• Able to command credibility with key stakeholders, and to influence and negotiate at a senior level.
• Fluent business English

Qualifications


Education:
University degree in a technical discipline, MBA, or equivalent processional qualification
Experience:
• +10 years experience in delivering large scale, multinational, complex software implementation projects
• IMPA Level B desirable (or equivalent)
• Detailed knowledge of Project Management and Methodologies
• Worked with customers and suppliers at C-level.
• Have a detailed knowledge of today’s software and IT technologies and be able to articulate this to others.
• Used to work in global matrix organisations for several years
• Delivered projects in a multicultural environment successfully
