Starbreeze develops computer games on pre-financed assignments from major game publishers. The publisher usually owns the rights to the production and carries the financial risk. If a game does well in the marketplace Starbreeze obtains additional sales-royalties after the pre-finance amount has been covered for the publisher. Starbreeze's office is situated in central Uppsala and they have 50 employees. The turnover for the last quarter was 11,5 million Swedish crownes. For further information www.starbreeze.com Work description: The company develops one game at a time, which takes about 2 years with all employees involved. As a programmer you will partly work in small teams with 2-6 people, partly independent, depending on where in the production of the game the company is. You will develop the Starbreeze engine and tools for the next generation of consoles. Qualifications: You have 1-2 years experience from the game industry or corresponding. It is advantage if you have a university education. You have excellent C++ programming skills. You have an understanding of modern rendering techniques and rendering APIs (OpenGL, DirectX9, Consoles). If you have outstanding low level programming and debugging skills (x86, PowerPC, Shader assembly programming) it is an advantage. Knowledge in SIMD programming is an advantage. You have good knowledge in English or Swedish. You have problem-solving analysis skills, works autonomously, are able to manage stress, flexible and have co-operational skills.
