The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics is one of the larger departments within the Faculty of Science with approximately 150 employees and approximately 2,000 students per academic year. The department conducts education and research, the latter spanning a wide area and within many of the projects being of the absolute highest world class. Main responsibilities
The main task is to plan and run research projects and to help with the supervision of doctoral students and project students. Examples of techniques used are: cultivation of yeast cells, protein expression, purification of membrane proteins, studies of membrane proteins with biophysical methods, analysis of data and compilation of manuscripts. Participation in general group activities and responsibilities is also part of this position. Responsibility for laboratory instruments as well as supervision and demonstration of laboratory elements for advanced level students, doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and guest researchers are also included in the duties.
Qualification requirements
Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country. Experience from studies of mitochondrial membrane proteins and cryo-electron microscopy is required.
Terms of employment
This is a full-time position until 2023-12-31. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually; therefore, please indicate your requested salary. Start date as per agreement.
