The Automotive and commercial vehicle industry is in disruption: electrification, automation and digitalization require from Purchasing to do things differently, to enable Scania to be in the forefront in offering transport solutions as a service, to increase customer value and gain from new business opportunities.
Our team from Project Purchasing Autonomous & Connected systems (SCX) and Electrics / Electronics (SCH) are responsible for sourcing and introducing Electronics Hardware, Embedded Systems and Software for our upcoming vehicle generations in the areas of driver interaction, connectivity and automated driving. We work closely with R&D and our suppliers to try to find the right technology to the right cost, while meeting time to market demands and ensuring Scania’s quality and sustainability requirements. We are a team with plenty of experience within purchasing and electronics, who enjoy working together to reach our goals. We enjoy solving problems both within the team and with our cross-functions and always strive to find the best solutions for Scania.
We are looking for a new team member to take part in our journey. As a Project Buyer, you will support our Sourcing Managers and Senior Purchasers from two different teams in operational business procedures and challenges. The main focus will be supporting the order flow for our initiatives in ATS (Autonomous Transport Solutions) for LiDAR, radar & camera systems, cable harness, V2X, computers and other Electronics. You will support in running RFQs (Request for quotation) and supplier nominations. The role is a perfect possibility to start your journey as Purchasing professional, to learn and to be developed to a Sourcing Manager role within 1-3 years.

I am 33 years old with 10 years of experience in automotive purchasing, thereof 3 years working with leadership. In order to succeed as a team in a changing business and work environment, my core principles base on the following 4 pillars: Trust, Respect, Support and Fun.
Who are you?
We think that you have a university degree within engineering or business and a strong interest in Procurement. You bring in curiosity and motivation to develop and see this role as an exciting opportunity to grow as a professional. The role is perfect for a young graduate who wants to develop to a Purchasing Professional.
We also believe that you have a technical interest and a passion for business, with the skill of seeing the big picture and thinking strategically. You strive to deliver what you promise and have the organizational skills to keep several activities moving at the same time. You are social and enjoy working in a team and work towards a common goal, cooperating well cross-functionally.
As the role will involve many international contacts you need to be fluent in spoken and written English. Swedish is an advantage as well.
