The KA Purchasing organization is responsible for direct and indirect material spend throughout KA globally. We are a centralized function, supporting our R & D and production organizations within the Business Areas. In Purchasing Fluid Transfer Systems, we are approximately 15 people with various roles. In our European Purchasing team there are Project Buyers working as a global function with focus on sourcing for our new customer projects and future development programs. The Project Buyer is an important role within the cross functional team in Fluid Transfer Systems and within the Purchasing organization.


This role shall be responsible to accomplish timely delivery of Purchasing NPI milestones in new Projects, as well as fulfillment of project cost targets. A focus on maintaining a required CM% throughout the project as well as the sourcing of new parts for projects which are in line with decided commodity strategies is required. Ensures supplier selection from the approved supplier list.


Job Profile
. Support sales and engineering with project cost/pricing objectives in close cooperation with the Commodity Buyer and up-to-date process know-how.
. Purchasing team member in KBD NPI (New Product Introduction) projects
. Translates business needs of this team into requirements as input to the Commodity Strategies and BA Purchase Strategy.
. Complete responsibility for sourcing, negotiation and planning for purchase of all prototypes in projects.
. During the project phase; manages suppliers, compares costs with objectives, ensures quality during the project phase, respect delivery deadlines and in particular ensures that the project phase reviews or gate reviews are supported within the framework of KBD (Kongsberg's NPI system)
. To secure capacity, pricing and to leverage new volumes, active sourcing should be done on carry over parts.
. Communicate with Commodity team about specific supplier needs for the BA and support the investigation of new supplier base when required.
. Undertakes negotiations with suppliers in coordination with commodity buyers and in line.
. Contributes to the conception of the quotation to the customer; participate in the project team with KA strategy and targets.
. Manages specific customer directed suppliers when requested and agreed with customers.


Candidate Profile
. Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications
. Commercial or technical background, attention to detail
. Minimum of 3 years' experience working in purchasing, preferably, with an Automotive manufacturing Company is desired.
. Excellent negotiation skills
. Experience managing projects
. Interest and ability in developing product knowledge
. Well-organized and structured
. Good communication skills and easy to connect with other people
. Team player with a strong drive and a positive attitude
. Able to work in a structured way, both independently and in a team
. Committed, self-starting, and taking responsibility, high focus and interest to improve the day-to-day work.
. Solution and result driven approach, capable to prioritize and be flexible in finding solutions to get the job done
. Ability to travel internationally as part of role function
