The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit electrical power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems as well as to interconnect ac networks asynchronously to achieve optimized operation.
Project Controls and Planning function is a vital part in project execution which aim to support Project Management teams by applying integrated project control processes, tools and techniques and to provide expertise to project planning and scheduling, cost and cash management, as well as risk management activities. The purpose of the Project Controls and Planning function is to facilitate proactive performance management by providing consistent, accurate and timely information to the project team.
As Project Controls and Planner, you will lead planning, scheduling and cost control efforts for all project phase, to maintain and analyze actual and forecasted schedules, cost and risk and to monitor, report and manage deviations for HVDC Service projects.
Your responsibilities
Be a major contributor to the development of the Project Baseline (scope of work, cost and schedule) and has the leading role at project launching stage, and on an ongoing basis, for the setting up of tools.
To timely provide the Project Manager, and the Line Managers with Earned Value Management Analysis, with look ahead, reliable and comprehensive information about the project status: schedule, progress, planned, actual, forecast, resources and productivity, trends, and risks.
Analyzes project requirements with project team, checks that all essential work activities have been identified in sufficient detail to serve as a basis for developing realistic project schedules.
Defines, jointly with the project team, project work and cost breakdown structure, develops and maintains properly linked, required resource loaded/integrated, baseline and current schedules that provide time phased baseline, actual and forecast data for project.
Monitors project progress and regularly analyzes project critical paths to ensure all critical path activities and project milestones are progressed to the plan, notifies project team of any deviations or scheduling issues, and provides input for optimizing resources.
Issues progress reports, program updates and productivity data on a regular basis and as requested by customers and stakeholders.
Contributes to Sales and Operation planning (SOP) at HVDC Service.

Your background
You hold an Engineering degree in relevant field and have experience of working as a Project Planner in EPC Company or similar.
Thorough understanding of logical sequencing and interfacing of project execution activities in EPC projects.
Experience in planning and/or cost control on lump sum projects or equivalent and ability to lead planning and project controls activities in multi-location EPC projects
Experience to plan activities and to monitor execution schedules and physical progress in all project phases.
Strong communication skills, ability to highlight key issues and to communicate them to management and other stakeholders.
You see yourself as a team player, with team management and leadership skills.
Proficiency in English is required for this role, additional language skills and/or Swedish is an advantage.
