Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) is a dynamic expanding workplace that employs around 110 people from 28 different nationalities in an activity-based office in central Stockholm (Garnisonen) and an additional 200 employees in centres around the world.
The role
The Swedish International Agriculture Network Initiative (SIANI) is a global, open and inclusive network platform that supports and promotes multisector dialogue and action around sustainable food systems. SIANI mobilizes over 4500 network members in different sectors and disciplines at different levels and regions. SIANI seeks to support transformation towards more sustainable, rights-based food systems inclusive of smallholder farmers, SMEs and marginalized rural groups.
SIANI is in the process to embark on the fourth funded phase (2022-2027). The role of the network platform is to promote knowledge from within the Swedish Resource Base (SRB) and to enhance knowledge development by bringing in new knowledge from outside of the SRB. SIANI is hosted by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), an independent international research institute bridging policy with environment and development issues at local, national, regional and global levels. In addition to SIANI, SEI hosts other networks bridging science and policymaking, including SweDev and AgriFoSe.
The SIANI project coordinator will work as part of the SIANI Secretariat, providing support to expert groups and other projects funded by the programme. The project coordinator will assist the programme director with the coordination of expert groups, meetings and information. The project coordinator will support the SIANI expert group with conceptual advice, setting goals and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The successful candidate will also contribute to the secretariat’s role in network outreach and communication tasks such as writing for the website and social media, organizing and running events and research and stakeholder engagement tasks in support of the secretariat.
Key duties and responsibilities
Monitor project plans, schedules and budgets
Organize, attend and participate in stakeholder meetings
Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings
Ensure project deadlines are met
Assess project risk and provide solutions where applicable.
Collect and publish impact stories from the projects
Create new and manage web content for the SIANI website and social media engagement
Organize, promote and run events as requested
Collaborate on secretariat-wide tasks such as research and report preparation
Participate in internal and external meetings
Contribute to development of the SIANI communications policy, programme document, annual workplans and annual reporting as requested.
Who you are

Formal qualifications and knowledge
Master’s (university) degree in subject relevant to SIANI work (agronomy, agroforestry, agroecology, food security, biodiversity or development cooperation)
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Project management experience
Experience working with results-based reporting
Experience networking and bridging research and policymaking
Fluency in written and spoken English and Swedish.
Desirable skills
Professional experience with desktop publishing software and/or Adobe Creative Suite, experience with basic web design
Editorial skills in English/Swedish.
Experience living, working or studying in developing country
Work experience within development sector
Work experience with international organization.
