Vestas Development is a newly established strategic business unit within Vestas that drives new growth while supporting the existing business in all development aspects. The function's main responsibilities are to originate and develop new wind and hybrid high quality projects across the globe via its own resources as well as via development partnerships that are established and managed by the group.


The position is part of the Vestas Development EMEA & LatAm team and will report to the Vestas Development lead in the NCE (Northern Central Europe) region and the chosen candidate(s) is offered a unique role to act as a trusted advisor and heading the team for both originating contracts and executing development activities in the Nordics.





Responsibilities


Definition and execution of development strategy: markets identification; project screening and development; partnerships definition and negotiation; development planning; exiting plans.
Proactively creating new leads and originating development and investment opportunities in the Nordics.
Structuring, drafting and negotiating project development, M&A agreements in the Nordics.
Both overseeing third-party due diligence and performing individual technical and financial due diligence.
First-hand experience in financial modelling is good to have .
Executing project development agreements, including monitoring development activities, quality assurance and control, meeting local stakeholders (e.g., grid operator and environmental agencies), budget review, and following up with sub-contractors.
Participation in board of directors / management committees.
Offtake origination, sourcing, structuring and execution is a plus, as well as negotiating other commercial agreements required for project financing.
Procurement of both development services, as well as construction contracts (EPC/BOP), and/or experience from working in a wind or PV OEM is good to have.
Senior level presentations and approval processes.
Leadership ability and/or previous managerial experience with project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and lead complex, cross-functional and geographical teams.
Project quality, optimisation and competitiveness.



Qualifications


An experienced professional with 10+ years of energy sector, and wind and PV project development experience in the Nordics, who holds a relevant business or engineering degree or equivalent.
Ability to independently take initiative and strive for the best.
An experienced negotiator and/or advisor with gravitas, persistency and the ability to deal with ambiguity.
A true proactive individual with strong personal impact, influencing skills and ability to collaborate on many levels across the organization.
Good written and communication skills in Swedish and English, other languages are additionally appreciated.
