Médecins Sans Frontières Sweden is looking for a Project Development Manager to the Innovation unit
The MSF Sweden Innovation Unit (SIU) is looking for a Project Development Manager to be part of the core team. The SIU works, amongst other things, with various projects that identify, nurture and scale solutions with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of patients and populations affected by humanitarian crises. We work on diverse areas such as digital- and planetary health to developing inclusive innovation models based on design methodologies and multi-disciplinary approaches tailored to the task ahead of us where the patients, project colleagues and the communities where we work always are at the centre of our work.
The role
The purpose of the function is to coordinate project activities within the scope of SIU work and our innovation model. This includes building innovation capacity within MSF, through projects (always in partnership or collaboration with other MSF entities but also with external stakeholders), by supporting project managers and other project members to deliver successful executions of projects.
Main responsibilities
Assure positive project outcomes by supporting/overview project managers and activities:
- Planning and scheduling
- Documentation and reporting
- Team coordination
- Resource management
- Risk and issue management
- Quality control (resources and expertise, methodology, process, outcomes)
- Stakeholders’ management
- Project manage when needed/possible (start up, gaps, etc.).
- Contribute to develop and adapt design methodologies and processes linked to SIU related projects and activities that in turn contribute to develop/strengthen our innovation model.
- Manage project managers, design resources and alike (internal and external to MSF)
- Raise awareness, inform, and communicate about the SIU/Inclusive Innovation Model and how it can be used within MSF.
- Contribute to building and managing a pool of consultants that can contribute to the SIU/Inclusive Innovation Model (technical expertise, anthropologists, epidemiologists, research, design resources, illustrators, facilitators, etc.).
- Contribute to the overall SIU dynamic and team building.
You will also be coaching, empowering and providing trainings in the areas of responsibility to both ensure project managers, specialists, and other relevant team member’s creative growth and to optimize results and performances.
We are looking for you with
- Experience in project management.
- Academic degree within Project management, MBA, design, product development, life science, public health, or any other relevant discipline.
- Project leading experience, minimum 5 years.
- Humanitarian work experience
- Experience in building skills and team development in a global context
- High level of expertise in common IT tools as well as collaboration tools such as Miro.
- Advanced level of written and spoken English
To be successful in this role you should be flexible and able to work in ambiguous situations. You take initiatives, is creative and can easily identify the roots of problems. To drive project, we see that you have a strong ability to influence others to work towards common vision or goal.
It’s valuable if you have
- MSF experience (from office or projects)
- Experience within the field of design: design thinking, human centred design etc.
- Skills in using an HCD approach in lower- and middle income settings
- Swedish and French language skills
Employment terms and conditions
- Type of contract: Permanent contract
- Entry date: Asap
- Working hours: Goal oriented working time (37,5 hours/week is full time)
- Location: Flexible, however you will need to be present online at the same time as colleagues in Sweden and Europe, therefore be located max +/- 2 hours from CEST. You need to be based and have permission to work in a country here MSF has a presence/office. You need to have a solid internet connection where you are working from.
- Salary: The salary is set according to MSF Salary policies and not negotiable, (local terms depending on where you are based). According to the Swedish salary grid, it is 40 002 SEK/month)
- Benefits: Local benefits according to the MSF office where you are contracted. For example, if contracted in Sweden: Pension, health insurance, life insurance, travel insurance, insurance for work related injuries, wellness contribution (2000 SEK/year) and one wellness hour per week, vacation: 30 days/year and full compensation day 1-14 of sick leave
