Grid Automation Systems is a business unit within Hitachi ABB Power Grids that offers systems solutions to protect and control power grids. The customers are in the transmission, distribution, power generation, wind, railway and manufacturing industry segments.
We are looking for an experienced Project Director to lead the execution of large and complex projects. In this role you will manage international project teams around the globe and be responsible for execution and delivery of such projects on time, budget and scope implementing the health, safety & environment requirements at the highest quality level to our customers satisfaction.
Your responsibilities
Accountable for the management of large and complex projects in all aspects from handover from sales until the end of the warranty period and contribute to the sales and tendering phase.
Managing multidisciplinary project teams in different locations, partially virtually, by continuous information flows, by doing project kick-offs and periodic progress, review meetings as well as monitoring project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow.
Ensure that the execution of projects is done in accordance with Hitachi ABB Power Grids policies, contractual agreements, quality standards as well as health, safety & environment requirements.
Ensure customer satisfaction goals are met while proactively striving for improvements and excellence.
Responsible for developing project execution staff through formal and informal coaching and mentoring.
Collaborate with other units, business partners, agencies and customers on both local and global level.
Some international business trips may occur. We also expect that you are willing to be relocated to the site for the project execution phase.

Yo ur background
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or Economics.
Several years of experience in the Power or T&D Industry, primarily from managing large complex projects including contract management and negotiations.
Project Director Certification (PMI or IPMA) is merit.
Experience in leading virtual project teams, and of working in a multi-cultural context and with emerging countries.
You are a reliable team player with an organized & result oriented working style, as well as strong communicative and collaborative skills.
You are structured and self-confident to handle both ups and downs and problems that may occur.
As you will be working in a global environment, you are fluent in English. Additional language skills are considered a plus.
