Hitachi ABB Power Grids and Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) unit (former FACTS – Flexible AC Transmission Systems) in Västerås, currently has two vacancies for Control System Engineers within our Global Engineering department. If you have the necessary drive and results focus, GPQS offers a stimulating and dynamic environment in a global context where you will be working at the forefront of the industry.
Your responsibilities
As Control System Engineer within Global Engineering’s Control & Protection Software design organization, you will work with high quality deliveries and cost-efficient engineering solutions for our customers.
You will have the opportunity to participate in Control System engineering from design to implementation, verification and commissioning in delivery projects.
Each project task has specific requirements regarding control functionality and to achieve this, you will need to have frequent contact with other engineering groups, project managers, local Hitachi ABB Power Grids offices and our customers.
Your primary focus will be on verification, validation and commissioning of the Control System.
In this position you will have the opportunity to get real-life experience of how Power Quality plants operate around the globe.
Commissioning trips of typically 3-5 weeks, 2-3 times annually.
Your background
We are looking for a driven, teamwork-orientated achiever for this position.
We would welcome applications from experienced professionals, as well as driven younger applicants who are keen to take their carriers to the next level.
To excel in this position, you need to be organized, responsive and solution-driven, with a strong focus on delivering results and serving the customer.
A BSc or MSc in engineering, with a specialisation in electrical systems, automatic control theory, software engineering or similar is required.
Preferably you combine your education with some years of experience from similar engineering positions working with deliveries of electrical power plants, converter stations, process control systems or substation automation.
An outgoing personality is a must, as this job entails a great deal of customer contacts and close cooperation with colleagues and suppliers.
Hitachi ABB Power Grids is a truly global company and proficiency in English is required.
