You will be part of Center of Competence Power Quality (former FACTS), a business unit within Hitachi Power Grids. FACTS technology enables power systems owners to increase the capacity of their existing power systems while improving electrical stability at the same time. The end result is more electrical power can reach consumers with minimal environment impact after shorter project times and at lower investment costs. This pioneering technology is developed at the FACTS unit in Västerås and sold to customers worldwide.
Our unit in Västerås, currently has a vacancy for a Project Engineer, Station Operation and Monitoring with focus on Cyber Security, Network and Communication, at our Service Solution department. If you have the necessary drive and results focus, we can offer a stimulating and dynamic environment in a global context where you will be working at the forefront of the industry.
Your challenges
Working in challenging service and updating projects to meet customer requirements and expectations related to Cyber Security, Network and Communication solutions
Focusing on areas including fault tracing and correction, design and implementation to verification and commissioning of various contents of Network, Cyber Security and Communication deliveries
Delivering Cyber Security solutions to help our customers to meet existing and coming Cyber Security regulations. In this work you will get in touch with various topics like Patch Management, System Access Control (Windows Active Directory), System Hardening and Documentation, Malicious Software Protection etc.
Delivering Communication solutions to e.g. support our customers SCADA centers. In this work you will be using MicroScada.
Delivering network solutions to support our customers requirement for availability, redundancy and security
Each project and task have specific requirements and to achieve this, you will need to have frequent contact with other engineering groups, project managers, local Hitachi Powergrids offices, suppliers and our customers

Your profile
A BSc or MSc in Engineering, with a specialisation in data communication and network technology, computer science or similar
Preferably some years of experience from similar engineering positions working with deliveries of industrial systems, process control systems or substation automation
Experience of Network and Cyber Security solutions within the power systems domain (i.e. NERC-CIP, BDEW) as well of SCADA systems (i.e. MicroScada) is an advantage
A driven, teamwork-orientated achiever
An outgoing personality is a must, as this job entails a great deal of customer contacts and close cooperation with colleagues and suppliers around the world
Organized, responsive and solution-driven person, with a strong focus on delivering results and serving the customer
Proficiency in English
