We are looking for an IT/OT- engineer to join Hitachi Energy in Ludvika. You will be part of a team of talented engineers tasked with deploying and securing the next generation of control systems within HVDC. Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for integrating and implementing IT / OT systems and infrastructure for control systems in large HVDC project deliveries.
You will be an important pillar of global projects throughout all phases of our extensive projects. The different phases are tendering, conceptual design, detailed design, testing, installation, and commissioning.
Accountability for your contribution throughout the projects. As our team member, you will design, document, install, test and commission the IT/OT system. Some examples of work tasks:
Installation and configuration of windows machines, virtual machines, and industrial devices according to our processes.
Implementation of virtual machines from various types of backup files.
Execute backup and restoration of computers, industrial and network devices.
Configure and troubleshoot communication issues between computers and other networked devices.
Apply security updates on devices and execute functionality tests.
Designing Human Machine Interface (HMI) displays.
Designing communications for common utility and industrial applications (SCADA).
Teamwork is an essential part of HVDC. You contribute with your positive and proactive mindset, as well as with your ability to create a good atmosphere in the team.
Be involved and assist with knowledge during the development of the department and its processes.
Actively contributing to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement.
You will have the possibility to travel globally during the commissioning period at the end of each project.

Your background
You may hold a vocational school or university degree applicable to the work with IT-systems (e.g Computer Science).
It´s meritorious if you have work experience in any of the technical fields below, but if you are recently graduated in a relevant technical area, you could also be successful in this position.
You are a curious, driven and initiative-taking person.
Strong communication skills in English, competency in Swedish is also favorable.
It is beneficial if you are a person who can imagine creating a future in a smaller city.
It is meritorious if you have previous experience in network equipment (firewalls, switches, GPS clocks) and redundant network designs and protocols, VMware, VxRail, Microsoft client- and server operating systems (virtual and bare metal) from legacy to current generations, Active Directory and the different roles, integration with third-party devices and appliances.
It is seen as an advantage if you have experience in HMI, communication protocols (DNP3, IEC-104, Modbus), databases and high-availability solutions, script-based network automation and script programming, port-, vulnerability-, and malware scanners.
Knowledge of intrusion detection systems, security information event monitoring, application control and other security-relevant systems is a major plus.
General understanding of standards such as IEC 62351, IEEE 1686, IEC 62443 and NERC CIP and previous experience in critical infrastructure is also seen as an advantage
