“Safer life at home” is a two-year strategic initiative that serves as the umbrella for other initiatives and activities in IKEA to accelerate how we work with product safety, taking the lead towards a safer life at home for our customers. “Safer Life at home” is driven from IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult. We are a small group of dedicated co-workers that work close and together with many different stakeholders across the whole IKEA value chain to make it happen.
We are now looking for a Project Leader within Safer Life at Home for Chest-of-Drawers US, based in Älmhult
As Project Leader within Safer Life at Home you will be a driving force to manage and mitigate risks related to Chest-of-Drawers (CoD) in the US. You enable an acceleration in the speed and dedication to the provision of stakeholder information around these risks.
The expected deliverables of this assignment are:
• Reduction of risk related to CoD in the US, based on a risk map and action plan
• Monthly reports to MD and IIG R&C as well as review meetings with the Operating Workgroup
This needs to be delivered through the following activities and scope:
• Identify risks and develop a mitigating action plan together with the responsible’s across the IKEA value chain for CoD in the US
• Project manage risk mitigation activities in the franchisor (Inter IKEA) part of the value chain US CoD (e.g. consistency of warning information in product information (Assembly instructions, Good-to-Knows), automation of business rules to keep articles in scope up to date, get formal steering documents in place, get legal opinions where needed.)
• Work closely with the franchisee (Retail) representatives in US on CoD (Ingka and Sarton) and monitor risk mitigation activities with them
• Participate in US project working groups to mitigate risk, e.g. second market intervention support
• Operate the project management tool for the above
Formally, this assignment reports to the CFO of IKEA of Sweden, who is the chair of the Operational Workgroup for the CoD US project of Safer Life at Home. On a daily basis, you will be part of the Safer Life at Home project management team, working closely with the project leaders for Safer Life at Home in general and for the US specifically.
Note that this is a temporary position from May 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022
