Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Logistics Specialist to join our excellent and passionate team in Skellefteå. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start, building the network of European lithium-ion battery giga-factories. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
The Project Logistics Specialist's primary focus will be on managing and supporting the process of transporting the heavy manufacturing and construction equipment from Asian and European suppliers, all the way to Northvolt's European factory sites. The role will be of pivotal importance in ensuring proper execution of the construction, installation and commissioning of Northvolt manufacturing sites' landscape.
The Project Logistics Specialist will be the key link between Northvolt's equipment suppliers, appointed Industrial Projects LSPs, logistical infrastructure partners (e.g. port of Skellefteå) and the Northvolt Site Logistics Teams.

In broad terms, Team Logistics is responsible for everything that moves. Our mission is to support Northvolt’s growth and expansion with logistical expertise and to create a robust logistical framework, within which Northvolt units can operate.
You:
Generally speaking, you have a reasonable degree of experience within logistical operations, preferably in an industrial projects setting. You are absolutely excellent in multi-tasking across continents. You understand the importance of structure and communication, especially across cultures and time zones, as means to ensure clarity and reach common goals within specific time frames.
The role will be based in Skellefteå with regular travels to Västerås, Skellefteå and Far East (China, Korea, Japan)
Together with the wider Northvolt Project Logistics Team you will:
Partake in preparations, planning, co-ordination and execution of land-side activities across supplier locations,
Be the link between Northvolt partners - e.g. suppliers and appointed IP LSP,
Assess and procure transport solutions keeping a focus on QHSE, schedule and budget,
In co-operation with the LSP, oversee the long-haul and short-haul transportation across all modalities (air, sea, road, rail) for both in-gauge and out-of-gauge cargo,
Lead the co-ordination of the schedule between internal Northvolt departments,
Support the local Site Logistics Teams in Västerås, Skellefteå and beyond,
Take part in developing and enhancing operational procedures,
Participate in structured and unstructured communication to ensure clarity around next steps and ultimate goals. Follow-up these with stakeholders and against timelines,
Continuously improve overall project logistics operations
Skills & Requirements
You are or you have:
Minimum of 3 years experience within ocean freight logistics,
Strong time management skills with the ability to maintain workflow while switching quickly between tasks, languages, cultures and time-zones,
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with the ability to prepare and deliver concise understandable information to co-workers, contractors and other stakeholders,
Problem-solving, entrepreneurial attitude thriving in a dynamic environment where no day is like the other (we mean it!),
IT literacy, predominantly in Microsoft Office,
Self-motivated and finding it easy to establish new relationships,
Worked in a multi-cultural environment (A MUST),
