Project Logistics Specialist

The Project Logistics Specialist's primary focus will be planning and operating the process of long-haul transportation and site handling of heavy manufacturing and construction equipment. Responsible for the equipment's safety from origin all the way through to installation at its final position within Northvolt's Västerås facilities, the role will be of pivotal importance in ensuring proper execution of the development and expansion of Campus Västerås – Northvolt’s engineering and prototyping centre of excellence.
The Project Logistics Specialist will take a central role, connecting the functions of transportation, warehousing and installation.

In broad terms, Team Project Logistics is responsible for transportation and handling of process equipment required to build and commission Northvolt facilities. Our mission is to support Northvolt’s growth and expansion with logistical expertise and operate with the highest focus on QHSSE, schedule and budget.
You:
Generally speaking, you have a reasonable degree of experience within logistical operations. You have the ability to operate in teams including internal and external stakeholders to execute tasks in a well planned and co-ordinated manner. You understand the importance of communication, as means to ensure clarity and reach common goals within specific time frames.
The role will be based in Västerås at Northvolt Labs site, with frequent travels to Stockholm and potentially additional Northvolt locations.
In close cooperation with your team and stakeholders in Västerås you will:
Forecast, plan and input on upcoming projects in all matters logistical
Plan, co-ordinate, procure and execute transportations between multiple cargo origins, mainly Far East and European to site, Västerås
Ensure that necessary resources (e.g heavy lifters) and appropriate equipment are at the site at the right place, when required
Partake in developing and enhancing operational procedures, follow these and make sure that regulatory and safety requirements are considered and met
Participate in structured and unstructured communication to ensure clarity around next steps and ultimate goals. Follow-up these with stakeholders and against timelines
Continuously improve overall site logistical operations

Skills & Requirements
Qualifications/education/experience/attributes:
Preferably experience of long haul transportation, ideally over multiple trade lanes and transportation modes
Excellent oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English with the ability to prepare and deliver concise understandable information to co-workers, contractors and other stakeholders
Strong time management capabilities with the ability to maintain workflow while switching quickly between tasks
Project management skills with experience in implementing and utilizing various tools and processes
Proactive, customer-focused and with a growth mindset
IT literate, predominantly within Microsoft Office
Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
