Who you are
We believe you are a driven and organized individual who knows how to prioritize tasks easily.
You have a strong interest in people, production and business and find it easy to adapt in cross-cultural teams in a cross-functional environment. Your passion is project management and preferably you also have experience from operations e.g. from production or engineering. We don't expect you to be expert in all fields, but we expect you to be curious and to enjoy connecting and communicating with technical specialists when working with new challenges. You also possess a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on approach in order to provide efficient solutions for the business.
About the job
"Project Office" is a part of "Operations development", with a focus on footprint and transformation projects connected to the operations of Alfa Laval. The footprint projects are the major change projects that are gradually adapting the factory footprint to make Alfa Laval more competitive and sustainable. A footprint project can typically cover CAPEX activities related to moving or setting up a new production line or to expand a factory. The supply chain is built around our three key technologies: heat transfer, separation and fluid handling and includes a network of factories and distribution centres in Europe, North and South America and Asia. Right now, there are many plans on how to make Alfa Laval more sustainable and competitive for the future and to support this journey we will extend our project office with a Project Manager.
As Project Manager, you will lead challenging projects with high impact on people and business. It can be to drive projects during the early confidential analysis phase as well as driving projects all the way through implementation. Your projects will drive change in the field of operations including manufacturing, assembly, warehousing and technology development. As a part of the project office, you will also have the possibility to improve the overall process and governance of this type of projects in Alfa Laval. You will act in an international environment in a wide network of people on different levels in the company. The exposure will give you good insights in Alfa Laval and prepare you for other future roles in the company.
What you know
You ideally have several years of experience from working with projects in a global organisation of which, at least 3-5 years in direct project management.
Experience from line manager roles in operations is a plus. You might have a record of working with footprint projects such as expanding, moving or setting up new production lines, factories, warehouses/distribution centres or other operations.
You can also have a background from projects developing and launching new production processes or products, making investments in new equipment/machines or other technologies. The experience you have gained from either line or project roles can come from industrial companies or as consultant.
We assume that you have a relevant university education or equivalent, that you have attended some formal project management trainings and that you are fluent in written and spoken English.
