Hybrit Development AB has significant growth plans for the coming years and are now looking for a Project Manager responsible for the construction of the new demonstration plant.
In 2016, SSAB, LKAB and Vattenfall joined forces to create HYBRIT – an initiative that endeavours to revolutionize steelmaking. HYBRIT aims to replace coking coal, traditionally needed for ore-based steelmaking, with hydrogen. Position
HYBRIT is currently constructing a pilot plant in Luleå and the plans for an industrial scale demonstration plant have been initiated. As Project Manager for the planning and construction of the demonstration plant you will be responsible for the development of the project in accordance with key stakeholders’ expectations. This project is essential for the success of the HYBRIT initiative and you will therefore play a crucial part meeting the highly ambitious time-, budget, and quality plan.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Plan, oversee and direct the project from conception/engineering to completion
• Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
• Negotiate terms of agreements and draft contracts in coordination with the Procurement Manager
• Support the permitting processes in coordination with the Head of Permits and Communication
• Oversee all onsite and offsite work to monitor compliance with regulations
• Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
You will report to the Head of Engineering & Construction and the project steering group, organizing representatives from HYBRIT’s owner companies SSAB, LKAB and Vattenfall.
Qualifications
To succeed as Project Manager you are an experienced and highly skilled professional with very good leadership skills. You manage to harmonize between being diplomatic and determined driving your project forward according to plan. Furthermore, you are trustworthy, structured, pragmatic and hands-on.
• Many years of experience from managing heavy industrial projects
• Relevant technical education
• Proven ability to lead work in a complex environment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Fluent communication in English and Swedish, written and spoken
• Experience from energy, steel or mining industries is an advantage

The position will be based in Luleå.
