Project Manager for System Design Department

You will be part of HVDC within the Power Systems division in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 50 years and is used to transmit power over long distances at minimal loss, using overhead lines, land and sea cable systems. Experience from working in a large company with a complex business, is the general requirement for you as an applicant for the position as Project Manager. It is preferable if you have experience from a managing position. You will work as Project Manager at the System Design department where your task will be to coordinate five technical offices. You will represent the System Design department in project teams, and report to the Senior Project Manager. From a technical perspective, the position entails technical coordination, where the Project Manager participates in the technical problem solving. For this reason, you must have a technical background, preferably a Bachelor of Engineering within Electrical Power or equivalent, alternatively, several years' experience within the Electrical Power industry. You will have many internal contacts at the System Design department, but also collaborate with the project team, other departments, time planners, finance and sales.

Your success as Project Manager is dependent upon your personality. You should be calm, confident and well balanced, but also clear and driven. Equally important is your ability to grasp the full picture from a business' point of view, to be able to handle stressful situations and several projects simultaneously. This job also requires that you have the ability to work in teams, to create team spirit and to inspire everyone to work in the same direction. It is also crucial that you can make difficult decisions, and lead projects both during ups and downs. A Project Manager of the right caliber also has good collaboration skills, is thorough and structured, unpretentious, independent and responsible.
