SIWI seeks a dynamic and professional project manager to join the World Water Week and Prizes department for a one-year maternity cover. This department is responsible for delivering World Water Week – the leading, annual global event on water and development; and the Stockholm Water Prize and Stockholm Junior Prize.
The project manager will be responsible for managing the events at World Water Week, coordinating all the sessions and coordinating the production of the announcements. You will be part of an experienced team of highly skilled professionals.
The person we are looking for is operational and hands-on, is not afraid of asking for support and a team player. You have an eye for detail at the same time as you can relate to the big picture and you are extremely well-organized. You have experience in organizing medium/large size events, can provide good support to a big number of partners and have knowledge of water and development issues and trends. This position will work closely alongside the entire team and other World Water Week’s stakeholder, such as the World Water Week convenors. Your ability to establish good relationships will be key to maintaining the quality of the Week and its delivery. 
Responsibilities include the managing the events review process to develop the programme, provide support to event convenor and being their liaison point, coordinating the team on the ground to ensure a good delivery of the sessions, working with the communications department to develop the announcements of the Week. Good customer service and smooth execution of all processes is expected.
Responsibilities
Project planning, managing and implementation, including involvement of appropriate parties both internal and external, of the event sessions
Budget management
Content development of events sessions
Ensuring the submission system is working properly
Liaison point for different actors – suppliers, session organisers…
On site coordination of the team responsible for the delivery of the sessions

Preferred skills and experience
Education in fields relevant to the position and its responsibilities.
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Demonstrated experience in working with partners and liaising with different actors.
Demonstrated success in managing planning processes and delivery of medium size conference.
Understanding of team dynamics in diverse work environment
Experience in developing and managing budgets.
Experience working with water/environment related issues.
Fluent English. Swedish and other languages a merit.
