The team, SNP Projects, is responsible for project management of product development projects within purchasing (Scania unique and Volkswagen Truck & Bus Group common projects). We have a helicopter view of the project status in dedicated/major projects for purchasing related to time planning, supplier tool investments and material cost. The team is also the interface to internal and external shareholders, including a close cooperation with project purchasing line organisation, Scania project office XP, Scania R&D, Scania P&L and colleagues in other brands in the Volkswagen Truck & Bus group.

Job description
As a Project Manager Purchasing you will be part of a team, where you will have the main task to secure that purchasing meets the expected targets and time plan for the product development projects referring to the overall planning.
 
You support the project purchasing line organization to give the best possible quality regarding estimations of investments in supplier tools as well as material costs into the dedicated/major projects. You also monitor and follow up on deviations and changes in this areas. You keep track of the project time lines and other purchasing deliverables, according to the product development process. In addition you are responsible for preparations for decisions throughout the project.
 
Furthermore, the role includes to identify, handle and escalate deviations within purchasing and the projects to the right level. You need to be able to understand the issues within limited time and support the handling of deviations.
 
Your profile
You have a strong interest in project management, a few years’ experience from purchasing and/or project steering and follow up. Since your work includes a lot of interactions at different levels, both internally and cross-functionally, it is important that you appreciate collaboration/teamwork. To be successful you need to be clear in structure, information and presentations, as also being solution oriented in your position.
 
It is important that you have the ability to take own initiatives and get buy in from concerned areas and that you are able to handle multiple open cases in parallel without losing sight on deadlines and targets. Being fluent in English is a key, both verbally and in written, and also a good knowledge of MS Excel is needed.
