Project Manager Scania Purchasing

The team "Projects" within purchasing is responsible for coordination of the product development projects within purchasing.

As we have new major projects coming up we are expanding the team and are looking for a new Project Manager.

This is a great opportunity for you who have a purchasing background and want to work with project management, or for you who already have the project management experience and want to learn about the commercial and strategic world of purchasing.

Job description
As a Project Manager you will be part of a team with the main task to secure that purchasing meets the expected targets and time plan for the development projects.

We support the organization to give the best possible quality regarding estimations of Investments in supplier tools as well as Material cost into the projects. We also monitor and follow up on deviations and changes in Investments and Material cost. We keep track of the project time lines and other purchasing deliverables, such as sourcing strategies and prototypes. In addition we are responsible for preparations for decisions throughout the projects.

Our role is to identify, handle and escalate deviations within purchasing and the projects to the right level. We need to be able to understand the issues within limited time and support the handling of deviations. In our forums called PGC (Project group managers) and PPC (Department managers) we meet weekly to discuss and decide upon deviations and tasks. We also have a close cooperation with Scania project office.

We are contributing to the development of working methods and processes within Purchasing. As the major product development projects within Scania often require new or changed processes we are heavily involved in or driving this development in close cooperation with the purchasing process team.

Your profile
You have a strong interest in project management, a few years experience from purchasing and/or Scanias project/object management. Since your work includes a lot of interactions at different levels, both internally and cross-functionally, it is important that you appreciate collaboration/teamwork. To be successful you need to be clear in structure, information and presentations, solution oriented and looking for common ground.

It is important that you have the ability to take own initiatives and get buy in from concerned areas and that you are able to handle multiple open cases in parallel without losing sight on deadlines and targets. Being fluent in Swedish and English is key, both verbally and in written.
