PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Project Manager acts within the boundaries of the contract to deliver the object of the contract to the customer and to deliver the targeted margin to Bombardier. To this effect, the Project Manager leads the Project Core Team in the successful completion of their assigned tasks within schedule, allocated budgets, within scope, and to the required quality and specification.
He/She will be the prime interface to the customer in all areas (e.g., commercial, communication, technical, deliveries, quality) and will keep a tight alignment with the internal Project Director of Bombardier Transportation.
The Project Manager will lead the project and cope with the unique challenge of continually focusing on a pro-active management that the functions keep their delegated budgets, meet their schedules and deliver on their obligation.
The Project Manager shall lead the team with the view of the full project, including areas outside own Value Chain Entity and the overall impact on Bombardier Transportation’s performance. The Project Manager has to ensure that all Project Core Team members have sufficient financial and reporting governance and to ensure all risks and opportunities are properly addressed and mitigated.
The Project Manager is responsible to apply the key Project Management processes and the applicable tools for the implementation, and is accountable for the strict and efficient application thereof.
Qualifications
• Relevant senior experience in a similar role in rail industry (alternatively, in other transportation industries, such as aerospace);
• Working experience either in Project Management, Bids, Sales, Contracts & Legal, Procurement, Engineering or Operations;
• Proven leadership experience and skills – coordinating people, able to act as an escalation point, able to communicate with different stakeholders including managers and customers;
• Competencies needed: Project Management, customer orientation, focus, communication skills, adherence to milestones and schedules, drive for results;
• International experience would be highly valuable;
• Language skills required: advanced/business fluent level of Swedish and English.
