Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Manager to join our excellent Program Management team in Stockholm.
The Program Team is responsible for delivering Northvolt Ett, the large-scale battery factory being built in Northern Sweden. As a Project Manager you will assist (and also lead several sub projects) in ramping up a subset of the factory, safely within budget and on schedule. Responsibilities will cover both the design and execution phase.
The Project Manager role is a highly coordinating role with main interfaces being engineering, planning, construction and commissioning (both internal team and external consultants). You will spend your time cross-functionally understanding and prioritising tasks, giving you an overall understanding of the projects complexity.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
You will be working intimately with other members of the Program Team and report to the Program Manager.
Regular travel to the project site in Skellefteå (Northern Sweden) is expected.
In general you have a extensive experience driving large projects in the chemical process or mineral processing industry which has given you a well-rounded project experience in design engineering, construction and commissioning.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Project management of a subset of the Upstream program, including:
- Coordination of Northvolt and contractor resources
- Coordination of basic and detail engineering design.
- Change management
- Planning through all phases of the project
- Monitor costs and budgets
- Schedule control and integration
- Interface management
- Monitor Health, Safety and Environmental performance
- Monitor Quality
The person we are looking for has a strong background from Chemical Processing, Oil & Gas, Mining, Mineral Processing or similar. As a person you are strongly goal oriented, curious and eager to learn.

Education/Experience
- A degree in engineering
- Well-rounded project experience in design engineering, construction and commissioning.
- Industrial background - Chemical Processing, Oil & Gas, Mining, Mineral Processing or similar.
- Previous experience as Project Leader or Project Engineer on multidiscipline projects.
- Preferably 5+ years of relevant experience.
