At Engine Development you can either manage projects in the development phase of new products or projects initiated to increase the quality of the running fleet.
A Project Manager in engine development works with standardized approaches and project models and applies processes, models, and methods that are established within their field and organization. Project Managers are responsible for one or more subprojects that are part of a larger project.
As Project Manager, you will be working cross-functionally within Scania and have daily contact with, amongst others, the purchasing department, design, and production. You will be the link between the team and the project organization, from concept development to final production verification. It is a position with varying tasks that involves a lot of responsibility, drive, and flexibility as you plan, coordinate and drive the team’s project deliveries and challenges.
It is an important position in a design group and it will develop your leadership skills and enhance your ability to create a network at Scania.
In your daily work you will:
• Create a project definition with a cross-functionally aligned time plan
• Lead a subproject using the development process to a decided deadline
• Follow up on the teams project activities/milestones and deviations
• Lead and drive the team to reach set and agreed goals
• Continuously communicate with the subprojects stakeholders
• Independently create a decision basis and present it to your steering group
• Lead activities such as pulse meetings, project meetings, risk assessments, escalations, etc.
Background and attributes
You like to take initiative and lead teams to deliver results, solve problems, and reach set goals. As a person, you are engaged, structured, and team-oriented. You have the talent to develop and maintain a wide network of contacts at all levels. You are comfortable presenting and reporting to larger groups.
Your profile:

• Overall knowledge of the project’s technical content
• It is meritorious if you have previous experience in project management.
• Relevant university education or corresponding work experience
• Fluent in both Swedish and English in speech and writing
• Have a technical interest to be able to ask the right questions to the right people at the right time
