Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Scania has decided to install a 3rd industrial hub in China besides the industrial installations in Europe and Latin America. We believe that our investment in China will strengthen our international competitiveness and our ability to be the leader in sustainable transport. To support the project team properly, we are looking for a person to take on this challenge as Assistant to Project Managers within the Production and Logistics project team located in Södertälje.
This role is a great opportunity if you enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work in an interesting international organisation that will give you a global view of Scania’s worldwide operations.
Your assignment
The project team is based in Södertälje but some team members are spread around the globe. During the spring, the first employees were hired in China and we also have employees working in Brazil and the Netherlands.
As an assistant to the Project Managers, you will work in close collaboration with the assistants within Industrial Operations Asia.
Your main responsibilities among others will be:
• Administrative support to project managers for Powertrain, Chassis, Cab, Maintenance and Logistics
• Support employees with travel arrangements and visa applications
• Support employees and their families who are working abroad
• Administrate and coordinate various department activities and workshops
• Other common tasks of an assistant
Your profile
You have
• a previous experience as an assistant or administrator.
• good interpersonal and networking skills,
• a proactive way of working, and can handle multiple tasks
• a prioritizing and communicating ability.
Since the project language is English and you will have international contacts, it is required that you can confidently express yourself in English, both orally and in writing. Already today some employees are working abroad and if you have experience from supporting expatriates and their families it would be a merit. We will value your personality highly and we believe that you are a person with a lot of enthusiasm and enjoy providing support on a high service level.
Knowledge of the Scania way of working and the organisation structure is merit.
Your location
The China project team is based in Södertalje. However, flexible work location may be applied to reflect competencies needed and deliveries in the project. Business trips abroad and to China could be considered.
